Yoga Therapy
Discover your balance and ease
Shigeko's Approach
As a yoga therapist, Shigeko meets you exactly where you are. She is trained to assess injuries from physical trauma as well as helping you identify stressors that can affect your emotional well-being. She’ll work with you to address your specific goals while also considering any limitations you may be experiencing.
She combines the modern understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology with the ancient wisdom of yoga to restore function, increase vitality, and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being. It is a mindful and highly personalized approach to managing stress, pain and tension.
With a systematic approach, Shigeko utilizes a combination of the following practices:
Movement ranging from gentle to challenging
Breathing techniques
Meditation and/or visualization
Physical postures that address specific areas of discomfort or musculoskeletal imbalances
A regular yoga class can certainly ease everyday aches, pains, and mood swings but a yoga therapy session provides individual attention and is tailored to what you need to increase balance and ease.
Shigeko recommends at least 3-5 Yoga Therapy sessions; 1-2 per week for 1 month for optimal results. You will be empowered to take your yoga therapy and meditation practice into your everyday life.
